Package Released for May 29 EFCL AGM

The big job is done for our AGM - our  Agenda Package and  2012 Annual Report  are ready and uploaded for the EFCL’s 2013 Annual General Meeting.  The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, at Duggan Community League, 3728-106 Street. ( map and meeting details )  Dinner will commence at 5:30 p.m.  If you or a representative are able to attend, please RSVP to Joanne.Booth@efcl.org by May 24.

Exciting Progressive Opportunity for a Marketing Professional at EFCL
The primary responsibility of the marketing director will be to help raise the EFCL public profile and attain sponsorship and funds for EFCL programs and operations.  The director will spearhead fundraising, events planning and coordination, develop marketing materials for major promotions and events, and be responsible for updates to the marketing and business plans.    Read more for accountabilities, skill requirements, and how to apply.

Super Volunteers Go Above and Beyond in Vietnam
Castledowns Recreation Society has completed their second playground installation abroad in Vietnam.  Not wanting to waste a perfectly good playground, they dismantled their old playground, packed it up and shipped it to Vietnam, paid their own way, and assembled it there - much to the joy of the locals!   Super story!  And great pictures . . .
Rossdale Community League Takes On Solar

Dandelion Renewables is very busy this week installing solar panel systems at Rossdale, Riverdale, West Jasper, Ritchie. This very important program is a move toward sustainability and again proves how Leagues are often leadersof change and solid community planning around our city.      

EFCL Brings Solar Green to Spring
The EFCL’s main office is now drawing power from the Sun, thanks to a solar energy system installed by Evergreen and Gold early this week.
Host a Reuse Fair and Receive a Grant
Do you want to strengthen local community programs and promote environmental stewardship? Host a A Reuse Fair,a one-day community event where unwanted but reusable household items are collected and passed on to charities, non-profits, artisans and schools that need them.
