Andiamo! Belle Canto Pre-Tour Concert |

In July, Belle Canto will compete in The 49th International Competition of Choral Singing “SEGHIZZI 2010” in Gorizia, Italy. Choirs chosen for this prestigious international choral competition are judged by an international jury. The winning choirs then take part in the 22nd Grand Prix Seghizzi 2010.
Belle Canto will be competing in the Renaissance, Romantic, 20th Century and Folk and Traditional Song categories with works by Monteverdi, Schumann, Weelkes, and Barber along with the premiere of a commissioned work by Margaret King.
Along with participation in this prestigious competition, Belle Canto will perform in Fiumicello (Udine Province) as part of the Seghizzinregione Festival.
Another highlight of Belle Canto’s Italian tour will be to sing the Mass in St. Mark’s Cathedral in Venice, Italy.

Cantilon Choirs was founded in 1999 by Artistic Director, Heather Johnson. The original small choir of teens from St. Albert, Alberta has expanded to include five levels of choirs for all ages – Kindersingers (ages 4-6), Primary Choirs (ages 6-9), Children’s Choir (ages 10-14), Chamber Choir (ages 10-19) and Belle Canto (adult female voices). From their inception, the choirs have consistently been awarded superior standings in local, provincial, national and international competitions and have received numerous awards of excellence and achievement. Cantilon Choirs provides unique and rewarding performance opportunities while promoting and supporting the development of community and integrity - both musical and personal - through these experiences.

2981 (Strathcona) Communications Army Cadet Corps |

Royal Canadian Army Cadets is a national youth program sponsored by the Department of National Defence/ Canadian Forces in partnership with the Army Cadet League of Canada. We train Wednesday evenings at the Knox Metropolitan United Church, 8307-109th St NW between the hours of 6 and 9pm.

Royal Canadian Army Cadets is a national program for youth aged 12 to 18. It is sponsored by the Canadian Forces and our civilian partner, the Army Cadet League of Canada.
In Edmonton, there are 20 Corps and Squadrons involving more than 400 youth. Cadets in Edmonton are supervised by members of the Canadian Forces, most of whom are among the 7500 members of the Canadian Forces Reserve Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC). Its members are specially trained part-time members of the Canadian Forces who dedicate their spare time to the development of Canada’s youth.
The aim of the Cadet Program is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership, promote physical fitness and stimulate the interest of youth in sea, land and air activities of the Canadian Forces.
Cadets are encouraged to become active, responsible members of their communities. The Cadet Program helps them develop self-confidence, self-esteem and teamwork. Other benefits may include high school credits, scholarships and training in public speaking.
There are no enrollment or registration fees, basic activities of the Cadet Program are covered. Uniforms are provided at no charge and cadets selected for cadet camps attend at no cost. Cadets are expected to assist their local sponsor by participating in fundraising activities on behalf of their civilian League Organization to cover the cost of activities not covered by the Canadian Forces.
During the training year, from September to June, cadets normally meet one evening per week and on some weekends. During the summer, selected cadets have the opportunity to attend one of the cadet camps across Canada, which can last between 2 and 6 weeks.
