Seniors Program Officer (Part-time, contract)

Are you passionate about active living? Can you train and inspire volunteers to become leaders in their communities? Are you a friendly self-starter with a positive attitude?

The Seniors Program Officer (SPO) will lead the Community League Walking Program.
The right candidate will be responsible for the promotion, delivery and evaluation of the program, creating
new learning opportunities, and engagement events, and promoting other seniors’ initiatives. The SPC is
also a contact for one-on-one support to Community Leagues. Working directly with Community Leagues,
the SPC will liaise with volunteers, partner organizations and other stakeholders.

Website Replacement Request for Proposal (RFP)

The EFCL is seeking proposals for the replacement of the public website at efcl.org. It has been identified that the current site does not meet the needs of EFCL, Community Leagues, or individual citizens (Community League members and citizens at large). A new site is desired that has the following attributes:

  • Clean, modern design
  • Mobile friendly
  • Easily maintained and updated by non-technical office staff
  • Meets current accessibility guidelines and standards


The objective of a new website is to provide:

  • A clean, modern and fresh design that better represents EFCL
  • A mobile-friendly experience that works on all mobile devices
  • A site that is easily maintained and updated by non-technical office staff (i.e. no coding experience is required to update existing pages or add new ones)
  • A site that supports on-demand visual identity changes (i.e. change in logo, colour scheme, or other visual identity elements)
  • A site that is easier for Community Leagues, Community League members and citizens at large to use and navigate
  • A site that meets current accessibility guidelines and standards (i.e. screen readers, etc)

Green Leagues Preferred Contractors Request for Information (RFI)

To provide Community Leagues with contact information for energy advisors, building energy retrofit
contractors, and solar PV companies with relevant experience working with Community Leagues, other
not-for-profit organizations, or within the residential or small-scale commercial sectors.


The selected companies will be posted on the Green Leagues section of the EFCL website for interested
Community Leagues to choose from for their energy efficiency, building energy efficiency retrofit and
solar PV projects. The list will be subject to review after one calendar year, beginning September 30, 2019.

Asset Infrastructure Database Request for Proposal (RFP)

The EFCL is piloting a project in District H (Terwillegar, Riverbend and Windermere areas) to develop an Asset
Infrastructure Database (Microsoft Excel) for Community Leagues to use to track both traditional (e.g. playing
courts, community halls etc.) and non-traditional assets (pathways, businesses, community gardens etc.)
within their community and district.


Mandatory Requirements
Asset Infrastructure Database description:
This database may be used as a city-wide template for Community Leagues to track their traditional (e.g.
playing courts, community halls etc.) and non-traditional assets (pathways, businesses, community gardens
etc.) within their community and district. The intent of this database is to provide community leagues and
the district with information that will benefit their community. Benefits could include sharing known
resources, understanding annual costs related to maintenance and upkeep, age of assets and their lifespan
and amenities within a community among others.
