What is the benefit of registering as a team?

If you want to create a team, this registration makes it easier for your teammates to sign up. You share the registration link that takes them directly to your team registration. Teams also qualify for prizes!

Why do team members have to register and pay their individual registration fee?

Every team member still has to register in their own category, adult, senior, youth etc. and pay their individual registration fee because they get all the same benefits as individual runners:

  • chip timing
  • race tech t-shirt
  • a race swag bag,
  • food and after-party activities like massages, prizes

Is there an application to fill out for volunteering?

YES! The volunteer application is online at the Running Room.

When we get closer to the race, you will get a communication confirming your volunteer role and duties.

Check out the volunteer roles needed.

How do fundraising and pledges work for the community leagues?

Community leagues can create pledge fundraising teams for their own local initiative and will recieve 50% of the proceeds they raise.

For example: $20 pledge

  • $4.00 to service fee’s (The fundraising platform has a charge card and a web hosting service fee)
  • $8.00 to Community League
  • $8.00 to Community League Plaza Project

The easiest way for people to donate to your team is online. You can also print off a paper copy form for those who want to donate with cash or cheque.

Why are the rates more expensive than last year, especially the family rate?

After consultation with volunteers and sponsors, who have extensive experience with races/walks, we increased the cost on all our registration fees.

Through our experience from last year and from consultation, we discovered that families typically would register for the 3k, 5k or 10k when they had children older than 6 or 7 years and they would want to have each child timed individually.

In 2016, family registrations only included 2 race t-shirts. With the increased family price, all family members will receive a race shirt (which is included in the registration cost).

2017 Family example (with kids 6 and up)

  • 2 Adults and 1 Youth (between age 6 - 16) individually registered would be $110
  • 1 Adult and 3 Youth (between age 6 - 16) individually registered would be $$130

So substantial savings even as a small family to register for $100 family option and you can still have another family member added.

2017 Family example with very young kids

For families registering with children under 6 years and want them to have a runner’s bib, you can sign them up for the Kids Fun Run. You can also take your younger runners with you in the 3k, 5k or 10k runs.

Thank you for your understanding.
