Recently, the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues was fortunate to be able to host Lewis Cardinal for our workshop Leagues as Land-Based Organizations. Lewis shared his wisdom and teachings with us — and we were particularly moved by his final thoughts, on the care for others evident in a Community League, and its connection to the history of our land.
In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we wanted to share his words with everyone, in the hope that Community Leagues can be part of building a Canada where respect, understanding, care for others and reconciliation are at the core of what it means to be Canadian.
