This is due to a new set of regulations from the Government of Canada’s FINTRAC (Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada) branch that requires Stripe (Communal’s payment processor) to register as a money services business in Canada. Stripe is one of the world’s largest payment processors working with global organisations like Amazon, Apple, and so many more.

These regulations aim to help protect against online banking fraud and money laundering, protecting your organisation..
