Community Energy Assessment Program

The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) is happy to present Round 2 of the Community Energy Assessment Program (CEAP). The EFCL has purchased a group of energy assessments to be completed on Community League facilities. The assessments will include a utility bill analysis, a site visit to examine the facility’s building envelope, mechanical equipment and electrical equipment, and a final report detailing recommendations for energy efficiency upgrades complete with an economic analysis of each upgrade. This provides a roadmap for the Community League to follow when considering infrastructure upgrades and CLIP allocation, with a focus on utility bill savings and greenhouse gas emissions reduction.

Some of the many advantages of receiving an energy assessment are:

  • An energy assessment will inform you whether you can save money by renegotiating your utility contract.
  • An energy assessment will inform you what your emissions currently are, what they could potentially be given a series of upgrades, and how much each upgrade will reduce your emissions.
  • An energy assessment will help you lower your utility bills and operating costs.
  • An energy assessment will save you money by informing you about the cost of various upgrades to your facility, how much energy you can expect to save by implementing the upgrades, and how long it will take to pay back the investment.

The EFCL’s Energy Transition Advisor will be available throughout the process for any information. Feel free to contact Michael Barnard at (780) 485-5332 or GreenLeagues@EFCL.org. After the completion of the energy assessment and receipt of the energy assessment report, the Energy Transition Advisor will be available to walk the Community League through the findings in the report and assist with the implementation of the recommendations within the report.
