  • Session Information

Discover the experience of 10 Community Leagues with sustainability programming, solar projects, and energy assessments of community halls.

Join us for a presentation on a research study from the University of Alberta’s School of Urban and Regional Planning, on how ‘green niches’ are created within Community Leagues to foster and diffuse energy transition.

Wednesday, May 26, 2021
12-1pm

Come and learn more about the findings from Dr. Neelakshi Joshi, Postdoctoral Researcher from the School of Urban and Regional Planning, and EFCL Energy Transition Advisor, Michael Barnard.

The research findings are relevant for Community Leagues that have either established sustainability sub-committees or are thinking of doing so by helping identify some barriers for creating and fostering niches for energy transition.

Leagues are invited to work with the Green Leagues Program and the University of Alberta researchers over the next year to develop neighbourhood climate action strategies.
