Start to Play

Made possible through the generosity of the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation

The EFCL and Free Play for Kids have joined forces to create the Start to Play program in 2022.

WHAT’S THE LARGER IDEA HERE?
The EFCL pitched this program with Free Play. The goal is to host Start to Play programs across the city with 50 Community Leagues, serving 1,500 kids in a variety of different outdoor sports over the year.

WHO PAYS?
The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation has agreed to provide the proceeds from the November 23 and 24 50/50 draw towards this program.

Leagues that participate will offer programming (ice hockey, lacrosse, ball hockey, basketball, football) run by Free Play, to youth (aged 6-13) in their community one night a week for four weeks and also receive rental income for their rink facilities.

SIGN US UP
If your League would like to host a FREE Learn to Play program, fill out this form and we’ll connect with you about the details in early December. Preference will be given to Leagues with a rink/court, but this is not essential for some sports.
