Effective Advocacy Towards Development & Planning

April 3 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

With the passage of the City Plan and related initiatives like the new Zoning Bylaw and District Plans, the development landscape in Edmonton has changed, especially in established neighbourhoods. This workshop will give Leagues an overview of the changes and what they mean for civics and planning, and explore effective strategies for advocating for our communities and enacting meaningful change.

In this event we will discuss:

  • The current landscape and how it’s different from the past
  • Where, how and why Community League advocacy can have the most impact
  • Proactive engagement with committees, community and potential developers
  • Methods and examples of community engagement and advocacy

This event is held in-person at the Jerry Forbes Centre 12122 68 Street in the Servus Workshop Room.
