Net Zero Pathways

This project supported by:

Alberta Ecotrust

The EFCL is happy to announce that in November 2021, we received a $50,000 grant from the Alberta Ecotrust Climate Innovation Fund grant program to develop Net Zero Pathways for Edmonton Community Leagues.

The EFCL recognizes the need to support Community Leagues to maintain and improve their building infrastructure while aligning with the City of Edmonton’s goals to reach carbon neutrality by the year 2050. The goal of this project is to support Community Leagues to apply for Infrastructure Canada’s grant program, the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program for deep green energy retrofits on their halls.

The goal of the EFCL Net Zero Pathways project is to create pathways to achieve net zero carbon for participating Community League facilities. The net zero pathways developed will then be used to support Community Leagues apply for the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program to retrofit their facilities, significantly lowering their building emissions and operating costs.
