In my platform, I have committed to reducing timeliness for permits and licenses by benchmarking our timelines against comparable municipalities, and reporting annually on our progress to be accountable to the public. This measure will not only help leagues address infrastructure issues more quickly, but also obtain permits for events more quickly.

Permitting timing and general “how can we help you” attitude from the bureaucracy. That culture can be changed. We also need to leverage the CLs and volunteers to ensure the value of their work is utilized. There are many opportunities.

The red tape at the city is hindering everyone. I will streamline processes and make sure things are done efficiently and effectively.

We will deploy more law-enforcement officers or contractors to ensure speed limits are maintained. If we don't have the resources, may be we could use (sworn-in) volunteers that will be empowered to enforce the by-laws and provide more camera to be used by the volunteers.

I support the change to 40km/h, but we can do more to help support communities as they deal with shortcutting, speeding and other dangerous behaviours. I believe the Vision Zero model the City has adopted is working, and that by continuing to offer traffic safety activations to communities throughout the city, we can make steady progress to further reduce accidents and fatalities. The key to Vision Zero is maintaining momentum - we can’t let good results lure us into complacency.

I have fought for anti-shortcutting actions. We need to give voice to the areas not the drivers in this case. I will continue to do so.

This is an ongoing issue that needs to finally be resolved. I don't have the final answer yet, but it is on my "to solve list".

If elected mayor, I will first meet with three reps of each Community League (President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Community League) Listen to their concerns and then call a general meeting with all the Community Leagues to discuss solutions to their common problems. Prior to the general meeting, the 3 reps from each league will have consulted with their general membership.

Yes, especially given their important role creating vibrant and engaged communities. I'm excited to see the how the results of the new opportunities community leagues now have to generate additional revenue allow them to expand their programing.
