Explore our  programs and projects

Energy Benchmarking

A yearly mini energy audit for your League’s facilities! Receive a full energy report with detailed recommendations for reducing energy usage and lowering operating costs. Leagues participating in the program year after year have seen an average decrease in energy usage.

Net Zero Pathways – Retrofitting League Buildings for Energy Efficiency

Support for exploring upgrades and retrofits to increase energy efficiency and decrease the environmental impact of your League’s facilities.

Seed Sharing and Garden Presentations

We help facilitate seed sharing throughout Edmonton’s communities, by offering Seed Sharing Kits and gardening presentations to Leagues. Get your Seed Sharing Kits to help kickstart a community seed sharing event or add a little something extra to another League event!

LongTrees Project

Bring your neighbourhood together and plant a community LongTree. Green Leagues partnered with the LongTree Society to help plant and grow “Thousand Year Trees” around Edmonton. Planted with care and the potential to survive for a thousand years, these trees represent our shared hope for a brighter and greener future for generations to come.

Climate Resilience Hubs – Pilot Project

The Climate Resilience Hub pilot project will explore the potential for League facilities to act as hubs for residents of their community during times of extreme heat, poor air quality, and extended power outages.

SPICE Solar Pilot Program

The EFCL – Green Leagues has partnered with SPICE, the Solar Power Investment Cooperative of Edmonton, to streamline and fast-track the installation of rooftop solar panels on Community League facilities.

RainWise Rebate Program

Community Leagues are eligible to apply for rebates from Epcor’s new RainWise program.

Air Quality

Having access to air quality data at a neighbourhood level can be a useful tool for decision making around events and activities taking place at the League.

Indoor Green Shack Program

Every summer, program leaders for the City of Edmonton’s Green Shacks program host games, challenges and activities that are sure to get kids active and having fun!

One-on-One Support
